Pembrokeshire
There's so much outdoor action available in Pembrokeshire, you'll never fit it all into one trip.
Take the sea kayaking. The area's national park coastline and islands provide some of the best kayak action in Europe for everyone from beginner to white water expert, but it would take years to explore all that's available.
And then there's the surf. Clear green waters, seals bobbing about in the lineup, and for those prepared to travel the chance to find quiet, uncrowded waves, and several beaches which are ideal for learning on. Locals who have surfed here for years still haven't ridden all the breaks in the area, so you're not likely to
get bored.
There's diving as good as any in Britain around the inshore waters, on ancient shipwrecks, or out at sea around islands such as the Marine Nature Reserve of Skomer.
Consistent wind and waves also give great conditions for Kitesurfing and windsurfing, not to mention sailing. There are even sheltered venues within the Milford Haven Waterway where beginners can practice before heading out to more exposed and challenging locations.
And finally, there's coasteering, Pembrokeshire's gift to the outdoor world. 'Invented' and developed here over the last 15 years or so, this is now one of the most popular outdoor activities in the area, and anyone can pick it up in minutes. If you can walk and swim you can coasteer.
There's even some decent mountain biking to be had up in the Preseli Hills. But by the time you've finished playing in the sea you may not have strength left for that.
